By now, most of the country has realized that we’re facing some fairly extreme heat conditions.
Our crews have been troopers working long days in the heat, these hazy days of summer are tough for our dedicated staff team, but with lots of water, popsicles and swim breaks they’ve pushed through (and still are pushing) these heat waves.
We’re seeing a lot of burnt-out lawns and dry garden conditions. Our friends at Aquatechnorth Irrigation Systems have been busy, busy reprogramming irrigation timers for additional watering time.
For those of you who have irrigation systems, it is not a bad idea to run the system throughout the day when you’re able to. However, keep in mind that it is better to water after the warmest part of the day (in the late afternoon/early evening is best).
We’re lucky enough that most of the properties we work on are on the lake and water is readily available to be pumped out of the lake by fire pump or irrigation systems.
There is not much more advice we can give other than water, water, water – both the plants and lawns will appreciate it – and hey, dare we even say, hope for rain?!?
