Rockscape Design offers a professional yet personal approach to landscaping in Muskoka and the surrounding areas, which includes the personal attention required to resolve any issues that may arise over the duration of a landscape project.
Planning is key at Rockscape Design and can often begin long before the house or cottage is even built. As a matter of fact, this is how we prefer it. Our first meeting with the client is very important and is really about trying to find out all we can about the home owner and how they intend to use the property.
We want to talk about the fire pit, the sports court, where the sunset is best viewed from, how they entertain. This detailed inquiry is the beginning of a collaborative relationship that lasts even beyond the length of the project in some cases. Our landscape designers listen to the client needs and wishes, provide suggestions and once the designer has a sense of the home owner’s overall vision they create a landscape design and proposal for the project. The proposal is broken down into unit rates dependant on the look and style the client wants to achieve. This gives the client and/or Rockscape Design the flexibility to make alterations to the design if necessary as the landscape is coming together.
Once the design and proposal meet with the client’s approval we schedule the project and the construction phase begins. Our project managers coordinate the landscape construction, keep the clients informed on the progress and discuss any issues that may arise.
We like to keep it simple for our clients and in turn work together with other trades on sites to keep the project moving with collaboration and the sharing of space. After the stone patios and walkways have been built and granite boulders placed, our team continues to create by adding largely native plant material to accent and enhance the home or cottage.
Here again we discuss with the client their favourite colours or what they would like to see when they look out their kitchen window. We offer irrigation and in house landscape lighting to finish off the construction phase.
The staff to client relationship doesn’t end here though. We like to have a final walk around with the home owner to ensure the landscape meets or exceeds their expectations and to discuss any questions the client may have. Our after care program provides as little or as much help as the home owner wants.
